SPAWAR Hosts Open Source Innovation Conference

SPAWAR and Mil-OSS teamed up to host the Open Source Innovation Conference in Charleston, SC mid-July. The Navy seeks to expand innovation, transparency, and cooperation between the defense industry and the DoD.

The event's objectives were:

• Education and socialization of OSS development initiatives within the DoD community; Government and Industry.
• Identification and exposure of multiple OSS industry partners and existing OSS DoD programs will assist in the successful execution of the Open Source Directive, as articulated by Vivek Kundra, Federal CIO.
• Promotion of IT efficiencies to be gained through OSS efforts.
