Want to start a new chapter?

Criteria for chapter establishment:

  • Chapter purpose focused on open source software and military/government applications
  • Chapter affiliations (if any) must be approved
  • Chapter must hold at least two events annually to be recognized (e.g. lunches, beer, host WG)
Mil-OSS provides each chapter:
  • Chapter controlled landing page on the Mil-OSS website
  • Website account to allow chapters to generate news relevant to their chapter and published on our website
  • Mailing list
  • Support in pulling together events (speakers, sponsors, event planning, registration, etc.)
  • SWAG starter kit (some posters, stickers, etc.) at first meeting
  • Money management

Chapter Application Questions:

  • Name of Chapter
  • Location and Purpose of Chapter
  • Anticipated Annual Events (minimum of two)
  • Mailing List
  • URL (Optional)
  • Chapter Chair, email, and phone
  • Chapter's anticipated affiliations (e.g. Companies, University, Other Orgs)
  • Comments
